This is the class that will introduce you to quilting! You do not need a sewing machine because you will sew each square by hand. Each month you will have a group of blocks to choose from that are constructed similarly. We’ll go over the techniques needed to piece them and work on how to “audition” your fabric collection to put together pleasing designs. (Techniques will include applique, curved and straight piecing) You’ll learn how make accurate templates and mark your fabrics, as well as improving your hand sewing. The final class is all about finishing - lattice, borders,binding and the math to figure it out. Your completed sampler quilt will showcase your new knowledge in a beautiful and personal way!
Auditioning fabrics- it’s important as well as fun!
Lovely flowers adorn many hand appliqued quilts, and they aren’t as hard to create as you might think! While making this small flower sampler, you will learn many techniques to make flowers and leaves; some fanciful and some realistic! We’ll discuss ways to add embellishments and use color to make your quilt unique. This is a beginning applique’ class!

This pattern is one of many charm quilt squares that are easy to hand piece. It has wonderful movement and many design possibilities not to mention that it is a great take along baggie project to work on during basketball practice or while on vacation. As well as learning how to hand piece the square, there will be design sheets for you to use to color plan your quilt. You will also learn how to make perfect circles so you can make your spinning stars look like spinning flowers.
