If you have been quilting for some time and are feeling limited by your sewing skills or wishing  you could create something unique, then you are ready to learn to draft. In this class you will design and sew a sampler quilt from beginning to end! In order to understand how a quilt block is constructed, you need to be able to be able to identify what pattern family it belongs to, and then you can draft or draw it. Each month we’ll focus on a pattern family and you will learn how to draft them. In addition, we’ll discuss fabric placement, rotary cutting,  and while sewing in class you will learn many techniques and tips to improve your piecing skills. There will be some time to discuss finishing  and possible quilting patterns for your masterpiece. This will be a fast paced class full of information!

A  close relative to a log cabin, the pineapple square is simple to make using foundation piecing.  In this class you will be able to choose exactly the size square you want to piece, from 2”-8”. Debbie will bring her computer and printer to class and print the size you want on the foundation paper you want! Because the opportunities for color planning and play are endless, some time will be spent with a coloring sheet to help you plan out your quilt. Then you will learn how to piece the square.  We will also talk about how to finish the petite or plus sized quilts, to place in a frame or on your bed.

This is a fun three hour class!
